Bait and switch? Deceptive practice? $300 cleaning quoted over phone turned into $1,400 deep clean quote. Deep clean only takes about an hour so they're hygienist apparently costs $1,100 per hour . Don't fall for the in-house insurance offer. Get everything in writing. Don't consent to x-rays.
