I'm updating my review. My son recently had a bad skateboarding accident, dislocating and breaking his jaw in five places. We immediately called Dr. Clayhold. He got us right in and took extremely high definition (but also extremely low radiation) scans to create the best possible treatment plan. While this was significantly more complex procedure than our previous wisdom teeth extractions, once again Dr. Clayhold did an outstanding job. The jaw surgery went extremely well and my son's recovery is going better than expected. Dr. Clayhold patiently answered all of our preop and postop questions and we came away from each appointment very encouraged and grateful for such excellent medical care. Previous review: I rarely write reviews and only make exceptions if our overall experience was exceptionally good (or exceptionally bad.) This was one of those rare, exceptionally good experiences. This was my second child to visit Dr. Clayhold, this time during COVID, and once again we a GREAT experience. My son's wisdom teeth were impacted and had to be removed, so Dr. Clayhold fit us into his busy schedule right away. The waiting room was warm and inviting. I've dealt with his office from a parents perspective when my son was getting his wisdom teeth removed then again when I needed a dental implant. In both cases, my experience with Dr. Clayhold, his office staff and the procedures more than exceeded my expectations. The love and passion Dr. Clayhold has for his work is apparent in every encounter with him. He personally takes the time to discuss options, educates you on the procedure, expectations, addresses any concerns and let's you know how long each step will take. The day after my implant surgery he called me at home, on a Saturday, to ask me how I was feeling and if he could do anything. When's the last time you had a Dr. personally do a follow up call...let alone on a Saturday! I had my last follow up appointment with him recently so he could make sure the implant was ready-to-go for the dentist to attach my new tooth. At the end of the appointment he asked me for a favor. Although his job was done, he asked if I could stop by his office sometime after my new tooth was in so he could see the end result. He loves his work and has such a high level of passion for what he does that he just wants to enjoy the final solution for his patients. You'll notice my review doesn't talk about calming fears, pain management, being on-time or how polite/professional the staff treated me. Apparently he thinks he knows more than the Swedish hospital doctors, and he isn't afraid to publicize it! He then proceeded to still charge us over $1000 for our incredible experience in his office. BEWARE OF THIS DOCTOR!!!! He is absolutely everything that you DON'T want in a doctor! Less
