My final decision, however, was made based on the conversations I had with Shawn, the owner. He was extremely responsive, returning all of my calls within a few hours, and he kept me informed every step of the way. He also didn't make any unrealistic promises about the schedule, and in the end they were here within a couple of days of their initially-planned start date. And working with Shawn was easy and pleasant. In fact, we decided to add two solar tubes while replacing the roof. We had the dumpster and materials on site in about three weeks. And the crew showed up the following Monday. The had the roof completely stripped and the ice shield installed the first day. They finished the second day including installing both solar tubes. I was able to walk around the house with the foreman and talk about where the problems were with the previous roof and what was done to resolve it. The entire process happened in the fall and was completed before thanksgiving. The bottom line is that we got a quality roof installation at a good price by a competent and professional crew. Pyramid roofing was my 3rd estimate. Pyramids salesman "Chris" came to my house and inspected my roof and in a no pressure way told me what I needed and what I didn't need. He left me with a sales packet which contained all of Pyramids reference's. Note Pyramid has a AAA+ BBB rating which I checked out =true as well as his references again =true. In the packet was also the information on GAF's "Golden Pledge Warranty"which is one of the best if not the best warranties in the roofing industry and is also transferable and free. One day later I received a detailed estimate from the owner of Pyramid Mr. Shawn Schwotzer. I reviewed the estimate. There were a few issues that I emailed/ called Shawn about before finalizing. On each issue Shawn (the owner not anyone else) emailed and or called me back if not the same day the day after.For one of the few times in my life I didn't feel as if I was "annoying"a contractor.I and decided to go with Pyramid. He was competivly priced and again detailed. Shawn told gave me a start date and kept in contact as to when the dumpster and materials etc would arrive. The job took 3 days. Shawns crew was fast ,accurate, and detailed in clean up. In all a good overall experience. This past week, I had to call Pyramid because a leak appeared from a skylight that they did not install but was present when the roof was completed with GAF Roofing with a 50 year expected life. It was a minor leak due to a nail lifting over time. Shawn returned my call the same day. He sent someone out the following day who found and diagnosed the problem. Chris went above and beyond diagnosing and fixing the leak. He checked and cleared my gutters and removing some bird nests and adjusted the gutters. This is better than excellent service and beyond what I ever expected when I chose this professional organization to replace the roofing material on my home. I called Pyramid Roofing to get an estimate on replacing the shingles on my roof, and in about a day or so they had someone at my house with a ladder to take measurements for an estimate. While he was there he was professional and pointed out to me that I had 2 vent fans that weren't needed and were installed wrong and the top of the chimney that is no longer used was falling apart. A couple days after that Pyramid emailed me a very straight forward quote and called to go through it to make sure I understood everything including the parts for removing the unnecessary vent fans and cutting down the chimney to below the roof line. It took a couple of weeks to have the supplies delivered and a dumpster dropped off. After that they estimated it would take them 2 days to finish the job. It ended up taking 3 days of work to finish, but the extra day did not change the price and they picked a stopping point where they had finished half of the roof and not started the other half so none of the roof was left bare during the storm that hit the next day. They were back bright and early the day after the storm and finished the job. Once it was done they asked me to take a walk around to make sure I was pleased with their work. All in all they were great guys to work with, a very reasonable price and they did a great job on my roof. Less

I felt Shawn was personally committed to my satisfaction. As to the job. It happened exactly as planned and on time. Monday the materials and a dumpster were delivered. Tuesday a crew of 5 showed up at 7:30AM and worked tirelessly in high heat and humidity. By the end of Tuesday, the old shingles were gone, and the new shingles, except for the roof vent and small roof area over my garage were complete. Wednesday morning the crew came at the same time and finished the job by the end of the day. On Thursday the dumpster was gone. The crew took pains to drape the house, so there was no damage to the siding or gardens, They moved all the furniture and plants on the deck, and when they left everything was returned to its original place, and the clean up was so thorough that you would never know they were there. Pyramid Roofing’s estimate was well below the other estimates. The owner of Pyramid Roofing, Shawn, could not have been more professional. When Pyramid Roofing inspected the roof prior to the estimate, they discovered that the cast iron roof vent was damaged and that it would need to be fixed by a plumber. The installation foreman (Pete) was also very nice and communicative during the three days it took to install this new roof system on my (large) house. Pete and his crew (Chris, Ty, Matt & Nicholas) worked together in the same way a squadron works together in the military. They all did their individual jobs with minimal audible instructions from Pete, showing just how much each person already knew what they needed to do and how it should be properly done. And all of these guys were so friendly to me and my wife too. In all the 35+ years I have built and renovated houses, I have never seen a roof installed so expertly and with so many great techniques. This is the absolute best roof job that I have ever seen in my life, including the ones that I did myself. These new Pewter color GAF HDZ architectural shingles are the best looking shingles I have ever had on any of my houses. The assessor, himself came off quite unprofessional as well, condescending to put it lightly. He commented, how my yard is so small and cute, his truck couldn't quite fit in my driveway and block our path to the yard. He comment on that being the fact that my yard was so tiny. He said, well at least you manage to get your home right outside the ghetto, that's a plus. Professional? hah, not from what I can see. I can not judge the quality of their work, but unless you have wads of cash and live in a choice location and have more wrinkles than a teenager. Chances are, they will give you the same professionalism. The assessor, didn't conduct any assessments. Right after I met him outside and finish our chat, he called his boss and left within 5 minutes of us talking. I wasn't planning on leaving this review, but this experience has demanded I share this with interested parties in potentially asking this roofing company to do work on their roofs. Great experience! We had our new roof put on in April 2020 and I would recommend Pyramid to absolutely everyone. From start to finish they communicated very well, were very responsive to our requirements, and did an amazingly thorough and quality job for a very reasonable price. The estimation process did have some wrinkles, but in the end, everything was resolved fairly and satisfactorily. Just make sure you insist in an on-site inspection to get the quote! Pyramid wasn’t the cheapest, but they were also significantly less than the highest quote. And despite needing extra material they stuck to their quoted price. The roofing process itself far exceeded my expectations. This wasn’t a rush job where a roof is slapped on in a day by a hoard of workers. The team was at our house for more than 5 working days, ripping and replacing as they went to deal with weather. They very carefully explained what they were doing, any issues they found and then very expertly addressed them, and quite clearly did a far better job than the original roofers. The team worked really hard to protect the house and landscaping, going above and beyond to protect the plants and some decorative copper ice sheathing, and returned decorative lead flashing around the chimney to its former glory. They were also meticulous about cleaning up multiple times a day, you always expect to find a mess after roofing and I didn’t find a single piece of shingle or roofing nail when they were done. Due to staying at home our kids had no where to go but the yard, and the guys not only ran nail finders hourly but also would build barriers in the yard so the kids had a place to play and the roofers had room to roof. They also were very conscious of their language and music, I didn’t hear a single offensive word around the kids, and they were universally polite to the entire family. The team took their time and did a really high-quality job. The roof itself looks really good, with high quality materials that should last a long time, and with all the fixes and extra effort they did along the way I'm really happy with the roof. He also determined that we did not have adequate ventilation in the soffit for the ridge vent. He came over, cut new soffit vents, stripped and replaced any rotten plywood, reshingled and installed a new improved ridge vent. All at no cost to us. This company stands by their work and do an excellent job. Shawn even agreed to split the cost of the mold clean up. You won't find many contractors like pyramid roofing. They truly did back up what they told me with their actions. Shawn was easy to work with, but what I appreciated most was how quickly he got back to me when I had a question. I requested a copy of the Insurance policy and it was sent the next day, but was going to expire the week before our job was going to begin and when I brought it to Shawn’s attention I had the correct one the next day. Tony and his crew were extremely professional, detailed and conscientious about their work. I watched for 90% of the job and I certainly got the impression that they had the same attention to detail as if it was their house they were putting the roof on. These are a few observations of their attention to detail: 1 – They use Snow Country Venting and I saw Matt take a shingle and rub some of the particles off – I asked him what he was doing and he said that he was covering some of the caulking so you wouldn’t see the nail. The vent is 40 feet off the ground no one would be able to see that. 2- Tony had to pull siding off and place Ice and Water half up the wall and half on the deck I was very impressed with the care and attention to detail that he took. 3- I needed to leave and when I was backing my care out Chris told me to stop and he would run the magnet in the area I was backing up to make sure that I didn’t get a nail in my tire. They did take care to make sure the house wasn’t damaged and they wanted to make sure when they left it was like they were never there. They accomplished that goal. Working with Pyramid was a great experience. The owner was very quick to diagnose the problems my roof had and provide an informational package on the service he offered and the products he used. The price was lower than most of my other quotes. Even on the one it matched, Pyramid was doing more work with higher quality materials. No brainer. The job itself was done within about a week, with the crew working extra time on Easter Sunday to make sure the job was done. My home was treated respectfully with full cleanup after the fact. Shawn and his crew are a class act. And if you don't feel like reading my lengthy review, just know that I would HIGHLY recommend Pyramid Roofing to a friend or family member. Now on to the verbose review... After calling multiple roofing companies to remove snow and ice dams on my roof this winter, Shawn was the only one willing to work me into his schedule the same day - that's important when water's coming into the house! And he did that twice for me this winter! Once his crew was on site (Peter, the Foreman, is great by the way!) they noticed issues with the installation of the existing roof, which was going to cause problems every winter moving forward (echoing and adding to the concerns that the home inspector had brought up when we bought the house). So not wanting this repeat experience next year I had Shawn quote me a brand new 50 year GAF roof with ice and water shield over the whole structure. I did some due-diligence and got verbal estimates from other roofers that were about 20% higher, but truthfully even if those estimates were lower I would still have done business with Shawn - his customer service skills go a long way. Fast forward to the install of the new roof and the issues noticed on the outside with the previous roof became apparent with the amount of rotted wood needing to be replaced. Additionally, every roof connection and penetration needed to be re-flashed (chimney, dormers, etc.), which wasn't part of the original quote. So the quoted one day job quickly turned into two, but Shawn gave me a good price on the unforeseen extra work and now I have roof that I know won't give me any more problems. Thanks again Shawn!
