My husband’s cousin passed away, “Gladstone Scott,” hence my husband, one of many pastors in the family, was called to officiate the funeral. Not knowing Delaware or being familiar with House of Wright Mortuary, I googled the establishment. I became concerned about the service our deceased loved one and the grieving family would have received based on some of the reviews I read. After leaving the funeral home today, I purposed in my heart to write a review. The premises was immaculate, and all their signage was clear. Upon arrival, they had an usher to greet and guide us to the appropriate entrance. The ushers were very helpful and polite and treated us with great respect and empathy. I commend the House of Wright and its staff for the excellent service they provide to our family/community at such an integral time in one’s life. “Thank You!” Side Bar: Kudos to the organist, you did it! I would NOT suggest this place for a loved one! They seem hungry for money, yet they’re meeting w/ families in a dilapidated building. Their customer service lacks compassion which they should have when dealing w/ people’s deceased love ones. They presented my fathers body to my mother & siblings looking terrible. His nails were extremely dirty it looked as if they just took him from the hospital & let him sit til they dressed him (no wash) . I was very displeased with their service. Never AGAIN! From your review response we can tell how professional you are. Also, it was never about money for my loved one. The presentation of the body was DOWN RIGHT DISRESPECTFUL!! , & as far as the buildings go people can stop by & see for themselves. Staff is nice and concerned about meeting the the needs of the family. First class, neat and professional. They take pride in what they do and excel at what they do.

The House of Wright handles it right. They handled my brother's service and from the viewing to the cemetery they were amazing. Professional, on time, considerate and sensitive to the needs of the family. Their facilities, cars, and staff are all extremely well kept. Just am awesome place to help in the time of need.

These people are TERRIBLY RUDE! When people are grieving it's the most critical and vulnerable moment in their lives. I was treated incredibly rude when I called about my Aunt! I'm saddened that they're handling her service!
