Amazing coaches, community, and programming!
I came on a little over 2 months ago. I am loving it. The workouts are a challenge everyday. I can see myself improving all the time. The biggest thing that keeps me coming back is the people. Such an encouraging atmosphere. They pump you up and keep you going when you feel like you have nothing left in the tank. #zombiecrew #5am.
I've only encountered helpful and considerate people here, that includes the staff. The gym is always clean and there is a good variety of equipment

Close to 2 years now at CrossFit Slake, down over 40 pounds and in the best shape of my life. Every coach and member do so much to make anyone that walks through the doors feel like family and get better! 5 star box every day! The new owners have done a great job with a new facelift to the gym, new equipment, and great programming. I’m lifting more weight than I ever have, over 120# increase in deadlifts, 100# increase in squats, and consistently hit PRs for other Olympic lifts. I joined CFS on the 6 Week Challenge in December 2018 to lose weight and get in better shape. I started off with 3-4 days a week, but quickly jumped up to 5-6 days a week! The meal plan, the workouts, the coaches, and every member in the gym are fantastic! They break down every movement and make sure you are comfortable before jumping into a workout. The other members working out with you consistently encourage you to keep working. I was less than a pound away from hitting my 20 lb goal after six weeks, and one of those weeks I slipped up during a Christmas vacation. I feel better, I look better, and I am more confident working out now than I have been in years. I am so glad I joined Crossfit Slake! Less

One night in December of 2018 while I was browsing my FB, I came across Crossfit Slake. They were advertising a free 6 Week Weightloss Challenge. This peaked my interest as CF Slake was literally a 5 minute drive from my house. I was getting fed up with being overweight so I decided to join the challenge. At this point, I weighed a whopping 255lbs, 80lbs heavier than when I graduated college 😒 My first class was on Saturday December 29. I'll never forget, it was a Squat Clinic. Basically, it was a technique class on the proper form of different variations of Squats. This was my first real experience with Crossfit. Coach Chris, the former owner of CF Slake, was great. He took his time instructing the class and spent time with each individual in the class. I never knew there was so much technique involved with just a regular air squat. I was sore for a week! I had good first class, and continued to come back. 19 months into Crossfit and I'm hooked. I went from from working out twice a week to working out 6 times a week. I've lost over 45lbs to date and my fitness level has dramatically improved. I'm in better shape than I was when I was 18 years old. The main reason I've stuck with it is the community that you find at Slake. The coaches and people I've met at Slake have become some of my closest friends here. They're encouraging, helpful and fun to work out with. When the workouts are as hard as they are in a CF gym, it helps to workout with people you like, and that's what you get at Slake. Crossfit Slake recently went through an ownership change in March. The new owners, Jen and Brian, have made some great changes to Slake like adding new equipment and classes, and will even add Open Gym and Specialty classes like Olympic Weightlifting in the near future. Also, given the uncertainty that Covid-19 has brought to every business, Jen and Brian have taken all the steps to ensure the safety and health of their members and coaches. They are also very interested in creating a diverse and inclusive community at Slake, and given the current climate we are all experiencing, I can really appreciate the steps they've taken in creating this inclusive culture at Slake. With all that said, if you are someone that wants to get a little bit more fit and healthy, I highly encourage you to give Crossfit Slake a chance. You won't regret it! Don't worry about your current fitness level, weight, experience, or age. Crossfit Slake is for every one...you just have to take that first step and show up to the gym 😎 Less

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again this box is absolutely incredible! The coaches and the athletes are amazing. Everyone is so encouraging. I have been a member here for almost a year and I have grown so much as a person and an athlete. It is absolutely the highlight of my morning 4-5 days a week. I love that I have found my fit fam and a gym to call home!
Great, supportive community with amazing and educated coaches. Great location for basically traffic-free runs, clean gym and well-kept equipment! Fans and mister definitely helped battled the heat.

Have been going for a month now and it has been wonderful! I haven't exercised like this and years and feel great. Coaches are very helpful and the members are some of the nicest most supportive people I've met. I was intimated to go at first but that feeling quickly went away after just one visit.

You may think it relevant that I chose to not continue membership following the challenge, but I assure you this was because of my personal situation and NOT because of the quality of the service. Here are 5 solid reasons CFS is worth a try: 1. You will find all the coaches extensively credentialed and knowledgeable, both about the movements and workouts but also the nutrition. They know the nutrition options available and how to identify what's good and what's not. 2. They KNOW how to get results, no matter your fitness goal. By following the suggested nutrition and exercise plans, I saw many in my limited time losing fat fast while still feeling great. Personally I wanted to bulk up, and I gained 12 lean lbs. during the 6 weeks while losing 1% body fat. 3. Everyone from the coaches to the other athletes are very friendly and welcoming, no matter your experience/fitness level. Coaches are motivating but not forceful. Living the glorious pain of the workout with the same people each day brings friendship and accountability. 4. CFS adapts each workout to your personal fitness level. No matter your experience, age, or body type, they are able to adapt each movement to challenge you appropriately. 5. They take time to develop flexibility and technique, especially if you're new. I Love CrossFit Slake. The Coaches are the BEST! They are so encouraging, positive, and safety focused. The gym atmosphere is out of this world.
Best crossfit gym I have ever been to. The coaches actually care about each of the members. They always make sure everyone is comfortable with each movement, weight or whatever it is we are doing. All the members are pretty cool too, everyone is super friendly and encouraging.

Awesome gym. Anyone who knows anything about Crossfit and what makes it awesome will appreciate how good this gym is for the surrounding community. Diverse, great people, great workout mix, great coaches, good equipment, clean, etc. They will soon outgrow the space because their clients stick with it.
I love this gym! The coaches are top notch and truly care about the well being of all the members. Unlike other gyms I've been to, the Slake community is so encouraging of one another. We all are at different fitness levels yet we come everyday, do the same workout, and cheer each other on. Highly recommend Crossfit Slake!

I have been going to Slake since Feb. 2017. Everyone always has a smile and a positive attitude. The trainers accommodate every fitness level and every workout can be scaled to fit you, but you will still feel the push from the group to go a little harder and get a little better each workout.

This is the only time in my entire life I've been regularly physically active and I owe it all to Slake. The community and the unmatched caring from the coaches makes this CrossFit gym unbeatable. I have learned to exercise and condition here and have truly fallen in love with my daily workout. I'm in the best shape of my life and I could not have done it without Slake!
