We hired SEOwerkz a few years ago to help our construction company’s online presents grow. When the relationship started, they were great to work with. Over the past year or two the caliber of help we received from SEOwerkz dwindled to the point where we left them for another local company. We had SEOwerkz writing blogs for our website, and the blog content was lack luster at best. Most of the blogs seemed to be written by AI (content for the sake of content). There were numerous issues with SEOwerkz but the final straw was when my website went down for close to a week, over the Thanksgiving break. I had to reach out to them and alert them of the issue, they couldn’t have seemed less concerned about it. That really frustrated me. About a week later, my website was down for a second time. Again, I reached out to SEOwerkz. They informed me that they were doing maintenance on ABC-XYZ and that a lot of their client’s websites were currently down. That didn’t make me feel any better… That's when we decided to leave SEOwerkz, and that’s when they got nasty. I won’t go into detail but it’s been really surprising (in a bad way). We’ve paid SEOwerkz for 2 months of service that we won't be using (per their contract, I guess that’s fine). But what really stuck me as odd was the way they handled communications with me and my employees over the past few weeks (as they knew we were leaving). It’s been a nightmare and really unprofessional. I'm tempted to give them a 2 star review as they were great when our relationship started, but they've been so awful the past few weeks that I feel they've earned a 1 star. Predatory, is the best word. From the beginning there was a massive disconnect between the over promise of sales(Dave Kimball) and the operations side. What makes them predatory? They know in many cases their potential clients have had bad SEO experiences. They manipulate those past experiences to their benefit. In the end, like many other firms, they simply do not deliver. The countless emails from that company to our firm, apologizing for not doing "X" or "so & so" drop the ball or we will get better. The one thing they are very good at? Billing. Deliverables and quality of work is beyond subpar. Then to cover your non-deliverables with lies, makes it even worse. Shame on me, in month 1 we had the opportunity to cancel and get a refund, but Dave Kimball resold the process. From there? 20% deliverables. Bear in mind this is 20% more than what we had previously. This is not about leads, that is silly. When starting out in SEO you know there is a process, content, site, posting etc. They never did that. Our concern was never over something trivial like leads. It was over delivering what you promised in work. Communication. This was a failure from top to bottom. In the end, sadly they are no different than 95% of the SEO companies out there. Our process to stop companies like this has just begun. With the AG in Arizona and Utah. In putting this out to Reddit and other forums, there seems to be a real and serious issue with this company. Something we will spearhead if necessary to stop this practice. I will say we were so excited that we finally found a partner, that would simply delivery a product and service. I ultimately chose them because their price was right in the ball park, but most of all because I felt comfortable with them and new that I could meet them in person any time I felt the need. They began the project and completely changed the look at feel of the site. I was so nervous at first, but felt confident in 1. their assessment of what I had and what I needed, and 2. their ability to create something with a more streamlined build and better look and feel. It was not an overnight remedy. My site had close to 4000 pages and so much conversion to the new format had to take place. Plus, I had a lot of unique programming in the original site that needed to be converted to the new format. They did it all. The web development team (Nick and Nicole) kept me up to date on everything they were doing and were quick to respond to all my inquiries and concerns. Never once did they lose patience with me, although I became more and more particular (and more of a nuisance) the closer we got to launching the new site. The final product was released last week and I couldn't be happier. Of course, with any new site, there are some glitches, but they are so quick to respond.
